I went to Polish Con!

This post should really be titled "I went to Polish Con and then my life got really busy and it took me two months to tell you about it." Compelling, right? But seriously, I went to Polish Con and it was AMAZING!

Where do I even start? Well I guess at the beginning....  The Polish Convention (PolishCon) was located in Chicago at Loyola University and had over 20 indie vendors from all around the U.S. and Canada. For an inaugural event the turnout was really amazing with 450 people attending . I was blown away to be surrounded by so many fellow polish lovers like myself and I even got to meet several bloggers whom I talk to regularly. It honestly was such a wonderful, welcoming crowd.

The event offered a limited amount of VIP tickets for $50. This included a special bag of goodies and extra time to shop the event before general admission. These coveted VIP bags were stuffed with special polish colors and well worth the cost. Their value was amazing and not to mention the extra time to shop!

I had a lot of fun visiting all the booths, meeting makers and drooling over all the beautiful polishes and products that makers had to offer.

In addition to meeting some of your favorite makers and shopping all the glorious products and polishes there was also an opportunity to participate in tutorial tables where you could learn from some of the very best bloggers about nail art techniques like stamping and watermarbling!
Overall my only regrets from Polish Con were not purchasing a VIP bag and not buying more stuff! It was just SO fun to meet so many of my favorite makers and fellow bloggers.  The indie polish community is really so special and this event really brought that to life for me.

I thought I'd share just a few of the pretties that I picked up from the event with you!

One brand that I finally picked up some polishes from was Chicago's own Scofflaw Nail VarnishDiamond Dogs is the polish that I couldn't walk away from the table without.

Minx Manifesto was also a gorgeous pink screaming out to come home with me! How stunning is this pink paired with the gold flakes?!

Sadly, both of these polishes are no longer for sale but the quality and application of these Scofflaw Nail Varnish was so on point that I need to grab some more new colors as soon as possible!

I also got to meet Supernatural Lacquer when I was there and I picked up their event exclusive polish 2 Minutes till Midnight and I got to try their acetone additive. Both were great quality! This is another brand that I need to get to know better!

One of my favorite Colorado polish and bath/body makers Lou from Lou it Yourself was also at Polish Con. If you've never tried Lou's products then you are missing out! You Get a Polish! was the Polish Con exclusive included in the VIP bags, but it was also available for purchase at Lou's table! Such a stunning blue!

How about a look at a couple gorgeous Girly Bits polishes I also picked up? These are limited edition colors, Dibs and 25 or 6 to 4. Holo magic! How can you not love Girly Bits?

  3. I was there! It got to be a little too intense for me since the crowd was too large for the space, but it was the first and now the organizers can be better prepared for the next one. I'm still not sure if I'll make it to the one in NYC yet, but I might be there!

    1. Which one is coming in the spring to Canada? There was one in Toronto, but I didn't want to waste nail polish money on $150 admission
