Painted Polish - Femme Fatales Collection (retiring)

*Press Sample*

I recently got to meet Lexi from Painted Polish when she was in town to attend a concert at the epic Colorado venue, Red Rocks. A number of us met up at the Llarowe flagship store to play with polish, hangout and chat. I had seen her eye-catching polishes all over the internet but had not tried them myself.

If you follow my blog you know that I love to get to know the makers behind the polish and what inspires them, so I asked Lexi to tell me more about how she started making polish and the inspiration behind this collection. Here is what she told me:

How long have you been making polish?
I have been mixing for a little over 2 years. I actually got my start with nail art. I'm ashamed to say that I had no idea the wonderful world of indie polish even existed before I startled to dabble and bought my first nail gems off eBay. I became obsessed pretty quickly. My mantra was 'BUY ALL THE INDIES!!' As I delved further into the indie world, I kept telling myself that I wasn't going to start my own indie. There were already so many great options out there. The idea of playing with a ton of pretty glitter was pretty alluring though. I finally caved when my mom gave me money to buy myself of nice camera for my birthday and I secretly used it to help start 'Painted Polish' instead. Luckily, I have an awesome and supportive mom and she was super excited when I told her! The rest is history, as they say!
Where do you get your inspiration?
I tend to just kinda start mixing and see where it takes me! I do mostly try to keep my polishes seasonal and stick to themes that compliment the time of year. I sometimes use Pinterest to find these seasonal color pallets for some pretty inspiration!
Tell me a bit about the inspiration for the femme fatal collection?
The inspiration for this collection is actually super unique! It comes from a ceramics collection that I did in college. I made a series of giant chess pieces of out clay that represented a variety of the Femme Fatale archetypes. I had so much fun translating those into their polish twins!
What do you think makes your polish stand out?
I never shy away from packing my polishes with crazy amounts of sparkly glitters! I am also constantly searching for and testing out new suppliers to find unique glitters that hopefully people haven't seen before. I have some newbie glitters for fall that I'm really excited about!

Anything else you have to add? Any hints on what you have up your sleeve?
My sleeves are jam-packed! My fall collection will be the largest one I have ever created and it will have a little bit of something for everyone. There will be some microglitters, holographics with added Drunk on Holo glitters (of course), and I'm making some more cremes! It's going to be a very "cozy" collection.
Uh, who else is drying to see that fall collection already?! Inside scoop has it that they will be launching sometime later this month!

There may be lots of flakies out there, but you've never seen flakie polishes like these before! All Painted Polish polishes are now 5-Free and as always, cruelty-free. Multichrome + Flakie + Holo Glitter = EPICNESS. These polishes are all opaque in 2-3 thin coats depending on application.  Please keep in mind that since all polishes are hand mixed in small batches, some variations may occur. And although they are flakie packed, they were very easy to work with and to remove.  All of these polishes are simply stunning. There is just nothing negative I can say about any of them. Since these are retiring shades you simply must hop over to nab them before they are gone forever!

'Jezebel' is a multi-chrome flakie packed with gold ultra holographic glitter that shifts between gold, bronze and silver.

'Seductress' is a multichrome flakie packed with silver holographic glitter that shift between pink, purple, blue and gold! This was my personal favorite only because I love pink, purple and blue.

'Temptress' is a multi-chrome flakie packed with gold holographic glitter that shifts between copper, gold and green with hints of pink and purple.

'Enchantress' is a multichrome flakie polish packed with silver holographic glitter that shifts between Blue, Gold and Green!

These polishes retail for $13.00 each at www.paintedpolish.com. While a number of these are currently listed as "sold out" there will be a small restock soon before they are officially gone for good! Which of these fabulous polishes are you going to nab before time runs out?  Thank you to Lexi for the time to get to know her and for sharing these beautiful polishes with me to review! I loved all of them and can't wait to check out more, especially those fall shades!
