UberChic Mat & New Stamping Plates

*Press Sample*
Have you met UberChic Beauty? If for some reason you haven't before then I think you will definitely be checking them out now! I've reviewed UberChic before as I have personally purchased their stamper and a set of their 1st Collection stamping plates. When I moved to Colorado a few months ago I got to meet Brittnay the owner and creative genius at UberChic beauty. You may not know that UberChic is a Colorado based indie brand. Brittnay is the one who designs all the images that you see on UberChic's beautiful and creative image plates. After ruining a number of table tops with acetone and nail art she set out to create a new product and I'm reviewing that for you today!

Introducing the Uber Mat by UberChic Beauty

Are you tired of ruining every surface you use with acetone and polish? Do you have to wait F.O.R.E.V.E.R. to make reverse stamps or stamping decals using your one or two stamper heads? Well, not anymore. The Uber Mat by UberChic Beauty is brand new to the nail art world and is already turning heads. Take your nail art to the next level by experiencing the Uber Mat for yourself.

What does it do?
I think a better question is what doesn't it do?!

1. Easily test out color combos on your mat
2. Protect your table from stains and spills
3. Simple Cleanup: Acetone and Nail Polish Remover proof
4. Create easy peasy stamping decals
5. Reverse stamp like a boss
6. Super flexible for easy cleanup and storage

UberChic put together an awesome video on the mat, take a look:

This has been a permanent new addition to my nail desk. Its been wonderful to not only protect my drafting desk (my husband is super thankful) but to test out stamping designs and color combinations. I've spent some time playing around with the mat and have some observations to share with you that I think are helpful.

Observations & Tips for Use
  • Top Coat used for deals: Out the Door, HK Girl, Zoya, A England - all work perfectly well for creating decals.  Be sure to use a thick layer and allow to dry before stamping.
  • Use a clean orange wood stick to loosen and remove the DRY decal to prevent tearing.
  • Stampers (this is probably the most important tip I can give you!) I have several stampers and usually I work best with my Creative Shop Stamper. However this mat and the Creative Shop stamper are made out of similar material, so every time I would go to stamp onto one of the nail outlines for a decal it would pick up the dried top coat vs. transferring to the mat. I found that a "marshmallow" type squishy stamper (like the one I have from UberChic Beauty) or a hard head stamper (Konad for example) worked best for me in order to effectively transfer the design from the stamper to the mat.
  • Stamping Polishes - I have found that for me stamping polishes work best and I generally use Mundo de Unas (although so stinky) because that is what I have a lot of. I have one Rica stamping polish that works well with some of my stampers but I haven't had a lot of luck with it working with my UberChic plates.  I plan to try Hit the Bottle Stamping Polish (AUS) and M Polish (US) in the very near future and will report back on how they work. Honestly I think stamping is about trial and error. Some plates/polish/stampers combinations work better then others. Just another mystery of the universe!
  • Easy to clean with a cotton round and acetone. I had no staining issues (even with Mundo de Unas polishes!)
This Uber Mat retails for $14.99 and is currently out of stock but should be back in late August! Be sure to sign up for Uber Chic's emails to stay up to date.

Special Edition: Fairytale: Sweet April - Nail Stamping Plate (retail $14.99)

Art nouveau at its finest. This is a very special release. This plate's design is actually taken directly off the pages of a very old fairytale book called Dream Boats and Other Stories.  The book was published almost 100 years ago yet it's illustrations are simply timeless. We decided to share one of our most favorite illustrations from the book as a very unique and versatile nail stamp plate. We've included the short story that was scanned and archived by New York Public Library in the above images as well. We hope you enjoy this fanciful and extremely unique plate taken straight from the dusty pages of a book full of fairytales.

How beautiful and whimsical is this stamping plate?! I admit that I have some issues narrowing down how to use these bigger/continuous plates but I am determined to experiment!

My friend Michelle over at Lacquer or Leave Her has an excellent review of this plate and does an excellent break down of how to use it! Check it out here.

UberChic Beauty Stamping Nail Art Plates – Collection 3 (retails $24.99)
For my birthday earlier this year my mom got me Collection 1 from UberChic Beauty and I loved the plates! I've watched as UberChic has released 3 more collections and I have been wanting another.  I chose this collection just because I was in love with a lot of the very intricate designs and knew I would get the most use out of it. Really you can't go wrong with any of the plates you select!

This Collection features three of our unique design plates carefully made to ensure almost any size nail is accommodated, it includes: UC 3-01, UC 3-02, and UC 3-03. The designs are 17 x 21mm - the largest single designs we know of in the industry - and are built to cover edge-to-edge even the largest natural nail size. Small nails left out? Never! Our designs are crafted to not be so overwhelming or large that you can't see what is on your nail - even if it's tiny!

Tell me what you think! Have you tried the UberChic Mat yet? If so, I would LOVE to know if you had any experiences similar to what I had with different stampers. What stamping polishes work best for you? Any tips on working with continuous image plates like the fairytale plate above? I love hearing from you! Don't forget to follow UberChic Beauty on Facebook to stay up to date with restocks, promotions and new products!

*The UberChic Mat and Fairytale plate were provided for my honest review. Collection 3 was purchased by me with a discount. All opinions are my own.

  7. I love UberChic plates. I was initially going to pass on the mat since I love using my stampers for decals and I have far more stampers than fingers, but a friend still convinced me I needed it. :)
