Midwest Lacquers - For the Love of Grayskull Collection

*Press Sample*

Today I have the 2nd collection from MidWest Lacquers - For the Love of Greyskull Collection is a six piece collection based on some fantastic shows that us 80's kids grew up on like He-Man and She-Ra!

If perhaps you are too young to know of this epic 80s cartoon series let me give you a basic overview. The show follows the adventures of He-Man and his twin sister, Adora (She-Ra), who lead a group of freedom fighters known as the Great Rebellion in the fight to free Etheria from the tyrannical rule of Hordak and the Evil Horde. He-Man and his friends attempt to defend the realm of Eternia and the secrets of Castle Grayskull from the forces of Skeletor.

I HAVE THE POWER is inspired by He-Man. This is a dark berry colored jelly with gold glass flecks. This jelly is so feminine and pretty for being based on a masculine character. The formula was great to work with and the gold glass flecks add a ton of dimension to this polish. This is one of my favorites from the collection and think its a great shade to use as we transition to and well into the fall. Shown with three coats plus top coat.

THEY CALL ME BATTLECAT is inspired by Battle Cat (from He-Man) a green jelly, with lime gold flecks, orange & iridescent glitter. This polish was very similar in formula to I Have the Power, easy to work with but this one has even more prevalent glitter. If you love green this is your must have from the collection. Shown in 3 coats plus topcoat.

I SURROUND MYSELF WITH FOOLS inspired by Skeletor (from He-Man) is a light grey crelly with purple holo micro glitter, purple and sapphire hex glitter and black round glitter. Did I mention GLITTER?!! I love a grey polish and I love it even more when its full of color coordinated glitter. Here I show the polish in 3 coats. I do recommend turning the polish upside down for a solid 10-15 minutes to allow the glitters to come to the top. Here I used 3 coats for my desired glitter payoff plus top coat.

Skeletor - I see the inspiration but obviously the polish is much more attractive then he is!

I'M AN EVIL HORDAC inspired by Hordak (from She-Ra) is a purple jelly, pink & purple holo microglitter, fuschia round glitter, silver and teal holo round glitter, teal holo hex glitter. That is a whole lot of glitter in this amazing jelly. This is another favorite of mine from the collection. This polish just kicks so much ass. There is no other way to put it. Like the other glitter (above) I recommend turning the polish upside down for 10-15 min to allow the glitters to come to the top. Shown here with 3 coats plus top coat. The formula on this glitter jelly is spectacular!

SAUCY SORCERESS inspired by the sorceress (He-Man & She-Ra) is a sheer white crelly with white & blue micro flakes, blue and purple iridescent micro glitter. This is a very interesting crelly and definitely unlike the other polishes in my collection. Since this is sheer even with 3 coats you still get a VNL, but I wanted you to see it in its pure form. I have lots of polishes that this would be a spectacular topcoat for to really allow the blue and purple iridescent micro glitter flakes to pop out from. In the pictures below you can just catch the shimmer of iridescent color.

PRINCESS OF POWER inspired by She-Ra is a white crelly with gold and red metallic flakes and gold shimmer. The flakes in this polish make it really unique and unlike any other polishes in my collection. Again I used 3 coats to get the flake payoff I wanted but you could get away with two coats. I definitely see the inspiration from the picture of She-Ra at the top of the post. The formula was easy to work with and leveled nicely. Love this one!

The For the Love of Greyskull Collection launches on July 24th at 7:00 pm (est) at shopvinylitup.com! Full size bottles (15ml) are $8.50 and mini's (5ml) will be $4.50. You can purchase the full set in full size for $45.00 or a full mini set for $22.00!

Tell me what you think! Did you watch He-Man and She-Ra as a kid? What do you think of the polishes? Do you have a favorite? Tell me below, I'd love to hear from you!
