Lollipop Posse Lacquer - Midsummer Midnights Collection (partial review)

*Press Sample*

The Midsummer Midnights Collection is the sophomore collection from Lollipop Posse Lacquer. This is a posse of six lacquers in various darker, more in-depth shades to take you into the heat of midsummer and the transition into fall. This collection was inspired by memories of hot summer nights filled with endless possibilities and a lot of self-discovery.

The collection is an about-face to the neon, bright hues of the Dancing Girls collection but no less stunning. Lollipop Posse Lacquer shows great diversity to the brand with this new collection, each with their own inspiration. Today I have four of the six new polishes to show you! Each is stunning and has a great formula. For all the photos you see here I used three thin coats and top coat.

Lets jump right in to four of the six stunning shades!

Backwards and Inside Out - is a linear holographic with a dark green base that will show a subtle, sometimes hidden, shift to navy blue. Best applied with three light coats to maximize the holographic effect and color shift.

"Do I stress you out? My sweater's on backwards and inside out, and you say how appropriate." ~Alanis Morissette, "All I Really Want"

Backwards and Inside Out is the girl who is always just a bit off-balance in one way or another. Her sweater's on backwards and inside out; she's buzzing on caffeine and lack of sleep; time flies for her and she wonders where it went. Why can't she just find some patience? Will her heartbeat ever slow? If she ever finds this peace, this justice, will she finally be satisfied?

But I Haven't Met You Yet - is a deep red, pink-leaning crelly with pink micro flakies to create depth. Best applied in three easy coats to achieve opacity. This was probably my favorite of the collection because I just loved the cranberry leaning crelly. The pink micro flakies give this polish a great shimmer and take it from pretty to STUNNING.

"I miss you, but I haven't met you yet. So special, but it hasn't happened yet. You are gorgeous, but I haven't met you yet. I remember, but it hasn't happened yet." ~Bjork, "I Miss You"

But I Haven't Met You Yet is our wild optimistic. She knows that something is going to happen, and teetering on the precipice is almost as delicious as the payoff. She pushes through the heat of a midsummer night to find that one thing, that one person, who has been promised to her in her dreams. She knows that when they finally meet, they'll remember one another from a life before.

That's How Witch Babies Are - is a vivid blurple crelly base with neon purple flakies and a scattered holographic effect.

"Pulling heads off Barbies, sticking them on the TV antenna and ruining the reception. But that's how witch babies are." ~Francesca Lia Block, from her novel "Weetzie Bat".

Witch Baby looks around at her eccentric family and wonders why she feels so out of place and disjointed. She was raised by a Secret Agent Lover Man and a Weetzie Bat and lots of love, but where does she really fit in? There must be someone who can still the rattling of her insides, who can pull her fingers from the snarls of her hair. But... Until she can find that person, she'll stay invisible in the corner, snapping pictures of her slinkster cool family and papering her walls with news clippings that you would rather not read.

Inside My Head - has a black jelly base that suspends a dusting of micro holographic gold glitter and multiple sizes of gold flakes. Best applied with three thin coats for depth and opacity.

"I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead; I lift my lids and all is born again. (I think I made you up inside my head.)" ~Sylvia Plath, from her poem "Mad Girl's Love Song"

Inside My Head is a girl similar to our bruised fruit, although she sings her mad love song to someone fleeting and maybe even unknown. It's well past midnight and the heat still hangs oppressively in the air; she's sitting alone at the diner, nursing her coffee, staring through the window at the flickering lights outside. She'll stay here, inside her head, and try to remember that name that floats just on the edge of her grasp.

There are two other stunning shades to this collection. I highly recommend viewing them over at the very talented Cosmetic Santuary's blog!
