Nail Polish Blogger Connection - Blogger Linkup!

What more do you need on a Wednesday then a linkup with some fabulous nail polish and beauty bloggers?! When I first started blogging last year one of the first groups I joined was the Nail Polish Blogger Connection. Here I found so many well established bloggers who were welcoming and encouraging for a newbie like myself.

As a promotion for our work we are all participating in a Linkup this month to share a little about ourselves and our blogs. This is a great way to find new blogs for our readers to follow. So if you are checking out my blog for the first time via the linkup, welcome!

About Me:
I'm a wife, mother to my little "threenager" and trade association professional living and working in the Washington DC area for the last eleven+ years. I'm originally from Pittsburgh PA and went to college at West Virginia University where I graduated with a degree in Political Science & Economics.

What is the focus of your blog?
Polish & Plates really started as a nail polish and nail art blog that I wanted to eventually add my love of food to.  It's naturally evolved into lots of reviews and thoughts on a multitude of polish, bath, body and beauty items. Where it will go from here who knows! I think that is the fun of it!

Why Start Blogging?
As I mentioned above I love to cook and bake. It has always been a creative outlet for me. I jokingly say I needed a creative outlet that I couldn't eat!  I have always loved art, makeup, and indulging in bath products. When I was a little kid I used to get into my mom's make up (blue shadow, pink lipstick, totally 80's) and dress up all the time. Then in high school I worked at Bath & Body Works and in college I was a Clinique consultant. I've never been able to resist the beauty world!

I've always had a voice on beauty and am frequently asked by family and friends about my opinion and favorite products. After the 30th person told me I should have a blog I thought I'd give it a try!

So here I am! It's a lot of work but I love it. It's something that is all mine and allows me to be creative and express myself. Hopefully along the way my readers get some good insight into products and creative ways to use them.

What keeps you blogging?
Blogging feels like a journey to me. I am really enjoying talking to new people, finding new products I love and supporting small businesses. It is a great creative outlet for me and something I feel like I am doing for myself.

What are a few posts you're really proud of?
I'd have to say my review of A England's 'Elizabeth & Mary' Collection is one of my best reviews. The polishes are gorgeous and exciting and I felt like I did a good job highlighting them

I was also really proud of my recent Pretty & Polished 'Dark Arts' Collection review since I was able to show the thermal color changing via photo - this was the first time I did this!

What is your nail polish holy grail?
Now THAT is a tough question. Probably the perfect, multidimensional aquamarine polish. I'm a March baby so Aquamarine is my birthstone and I cannot find the perfect aquamarine polish with some character to it. Hello piCture pOlish I have an idea over here! (I wish....)
