piCture pOlish Dragonfly - Swatches & Review

Have you met piCture pOlish? I know what you are thinking... yes its spelled that way. piCture pOlish is a boutique Nail Polish Brand, independently owned, founded, formulated and proudly made in Australia! I mentioned two of their polishes in my Favorite Polishes of 2014 blog post (see that here) and gave the brand runner up status in my favorite international indie brand category.

I discovered this brand in the indie circuit and jumped on a restock at Llarowe to get my digits on Fool's Gold (another polish of the year) and the fangirling began. While I have only about 7 of their amazing shades there are dozens on my wish list!!

The coolest thing about the brand in my opinion are the collaboration shades done with bloggers all over the world. The blogger works with the brand using their own inspiration and style to create a shade. This is now the pinnacle of my blogger bucket list. A girl can dream right? I don't even know which way I'd go yet in creating my signature shade...probably something you discover on your blogging journey!

Anyhow, I have one of the newest collaboration shades for you today! Dragonfly was created in 2014 with Lucie aka Lucy's Stash (Blogger/UK) The inspiration? The beauty and elegance of dragonflies.  Dragonfly represents the ever-changing hints of colour in their wings.

I highly recommend visiting Lucy's Stash and reading her post on her inspiration in creating this shade. She also has some killer swatches and bottle shots!

5 Free - Dragonfly is a complex teal (green) bijou holo and dries smooth on the nail (contains no glitter).
Bijou Holo: is a mix of delicate small holo particles and coloured flecks that look amazing in bright sunlight and three dimensional in low lights. Haven't heard the term Bijou (ˈbēZHo͞o) before? Adjective: bi·jou meaning small and elegant. Bijou holos are my favorite finish in a polish.

The polish is incredibly pigmented and the bijou holo within give off some gold, purple and teal. Its very easy to work with and I only used 2 thin coats over base coat and HK Girl top coat. Its really a stunner in the sunlight.

You can buy piCture pOlish from their website (they ship internationally), but if you are in the US I would recommend buying from a stockist like Llarowe (US), Color4Nails (US) or Harlow & Co. (Canada). Of course popular colors do sell out fast so I recommend liking their Facebook pages to stay up to date with color restocks. Colors vary in prices generally $14.50-$16.50 (11mm).

I was inspired by the little micro peeks of purple that you can see within the polish so I decided to pair it with a purple. I had many to choose from but since I just picked up Zoya Savita on sale at Ulta I thought I'd use it. I added a triangle accent and ta-da! I loved it!

So what do you think? Have you tried Dragonfly or another piCure pOlish? Let me know below! I'd love to hear from you! Don't forget to follow me on BlogLovin and "like" my Facebook page too! There is also a piCture pOlish loVers group on Facebook if you'd like to join in the conversation!
