My Favorite Things - Part II

I've been hard at work since my first My Favorite Things blog post trying new things just for you guys! I know, its a tough job but someone has got to do it! Below is a round up of some of the beauty items that I have been using and loving as of late!

Julep - Gel Eye Gliders

Julep launched these eye gliders a few months ago and they have quickly become my favorite.
Clinically proven to last for 10+ hours, this easy-to-use eye pencil delivers the creamy formula & intense color payoff of a gel eyeliner. The waterproof formula glides on, sets in 30 seconds, and then stays put.

Choose from: Blackest Black, Bronze Shimmer, Graphite Shimmer, Regal Teal, Rich Brown
Smoky Plum, Smoky Taupe Shimmer
  • Glides on smoothly with no dragging or pulling
  • Delivers rich, intense color that sets in 30 seconds
  • Lasts for 10+ hours of wear  (I swear it really does!)
Honestly best eyeliner ever. Period. End of story. I have the Smoky Plum and the Taupe Shimmer. Eventually I will have them all! Available at Julep.com for $12.80 for Mavens. Plus you can regularly use discount codes on these and all the other amazing Julep products! Need some codes or a referral? Let me know - I hardly ever pay full price for anything!

Urban Decay - Revolution Lipstick in Anarchy

This bright fuchsia lip stick is not for those afraid of wearing some COLOR! Believe it or not this color is ultra flattering on a myriad of skin tones!

Its creamy and ultra long wearing! I pair it with the matching lip liner. Fuchsia not your color? This badass lipstick comes in 22 shades! $22.00 at Sephora.

Clinique - Chubby Stick Intense
Moisturizing Color Lip Balm - in 05 plushest pout

When I'm not in the mood to wear bright fuchsia this is essentially my everyday color. I initially received this product as apart of a Clinique free gift event but have repurchased this at least 3 times now.

Tempt lips with a soft cushion of colour that's not quite sheer, not quite opaque-just the perfect happy medium. Loaded with mango and shea butters so lips feel comfortably soft and smooth. Eight vibrant shades in all. $17.00 each. Available at Clinique.com and major department stores.

I can't speak to the other colors but plushest pout is very creamy and surprisingly long lasting. I feel like a lip that pops helps you look more awake and more fresh no matter how little (other) makeup you are wearing. With the winter months ahead be sure to be good to your lips!

Body Shop USA - Skin Care

A few months ago my skin started freaking out. Really?! I'm in my early 30s, I thought my skin was supposed to be stable by now. Anyhow, I had read a lot about the positive effects of Tea Tree Oil and found that the Body Shop had a whole line.

Well folks, I'm hooked. Its great stuff and has gotten my skin under control. I currently use the Tea Tree Oil Foaming Face wash, Tea Tree Oil Toner, Essential Oil and Face Mask. You can find all of these products and more on their website and in stores.

Additionally, I HIGHLY recommend the Vitamin C Skin boost serum. This product not only makes your skin look and feel amazing but it acts like a make up primer! I love a product that does double duty!  With regards to the prices for Body Shop I follow them on Facebook and shop the promos and sales. There is always a buy 3 get 3 free or an online 40% off. Also a little known fact that the stores will honor online promotions!

Moroccan Oil Extra Volume Shampoo & Conditioner

I have fine hair but I like it to have volume and be soft.  I love Moroccan Oil and they don't disappoint with this Extra Volume Shampoo and Conditioner. Yes, its a tad pricey at approx. $25.00 a bottle but you only need a little for it to go a long way.  It smells amazing and makes my hair shiny, bouncy and smooth!
Extra Volume Shampoo and Conditioner contain antioxidant argan oil and nutrients to cleanse, de-tangle and bring back body to hair. They beautify hair with shine, manageability and movement, while making it easier to style. The formulas are free of sulfates, phosphates and parabens, so they’re safer for the environment and won’t dry, fade or strip hair of color.

Bed Head - Headrush
This lightweight mist gives your hair extreme gloss with all-over coverage. Adds depth to highlights and colour.

Eliminates static for a smooth, healthy finish. I use this everyday. It has a clean scent and makes your hair oh-so-shiny! I buy this at Ulta or through Amazon but I've seen it at CVS too.

Sunny's Body Products

Being a polish blogger its key that my hands, nails and cuticles look good on camera. I've tried a number of different products and have loved many - including Bliss Kiss and LUSH Cuticle balm which earn high Polish & Plates recommendation. I've also just got the new KB Shimmer Cuticle Oil Pen and will review that after I use it for awhile.

But I digress..... A few months ago I discovered Sunny's Body Products through a fellow Blogger and purchased a few of her cuticle oils and balms. Then I discovered her exclusive boxes that she offers a number of times a year. These boxes are an incredible value and have scents/flavors that are only available in these boxes.

I recently bought the Fall Exclusive box which was filled with the following 6 products all for only $22.00 plus shipping. Like I said GREAT VALUE and a perfect gift!

Its honestly hard for me tho choose my favorite item from this box, my two favorite scents are probably the Pumpkin Crunch Cake and the Autumn Harvest. I also have the miracle balm in Pumpkin Walnut Biscotti which I'm obsessed with! The PolishAholic did an awesome review on the box which you should check out!

Launching on Nov.21 is the Winter Exclusive/Christmas box which will include a new product from Sunny - a body balm! These will make a great gift for the ladies in your life!

And of course you can visit Sunny's online store and pick and choose your products and scents to your hearts delight! Here is a shortcut link to all the scents that Sunny's offers, you should really check it out! Scents like Monkey Farts, Root Beer and Chocolate Orchid top my list of scents to try!

The Wet Hair Brush

Trouble with knots and tangles in your hair? I have a 3 year old toddler and her hair is a curly rats nest - seriously. I can't remember where I saw the recommendation for this brush but I picked it up at Sally's - and it does not disappoint. While I got this for my daughter I find myself stealing it post shower, every time. Since its not expensive I will be picking up another for myself! Its also available at Target and online from (my favorite) Amazon.

So that is my latest roundup of favorites! Have you tried any of these products or any those I previously recommended - tell me below! If you try any of these please let me know your thoughts!

  1. You've gotta take K to a DevaCurl stylist. They have a specufic method of cutting and styling (which they teach you!). I SO wish I had the DevaCurl products and cut around when I was a kid...and I'm sure my non curly haired mom does too! Having curl confidence in my teen years would have been fantastic. Not to sound overly dramatic but the DevaCurl method has changed my life. Miss yall bunches. XOXO!

  3. Yay!! I figured you'd have some close options. I still go to Charleston for my cuts...hes only Deva trained stylist in the state. K has adorable hair...and an adorable face to match :) This should def make things easier for you and for her as she gets older (I'm rocking 3rd day hair today w Deva!). Keep me posted!

  4. Totally forgot to second the joys of tea tree oil (I can get carried away preaching the gospel of Deva). It's been a staple for breakouts since high school. One note of caution-handle the essential oil w care...friend in college dropped her bottle on her dorm floor. Entire 1st floor of Boreman North smelled like tea tree oil for months!!
I've gotta try the chubby stick intense!
One last VERY noteworthy tidbit...did you see the new UD Naked on the Run palette??? Shadows, blush, bronzer, highlight, liner, mascara & gloss all in this baby! Drops Dec 1 at Sephora

    1. You definitely should! I would also recommend a thickening foam - I am loving a new one that I got! Its Kerastase Densimorphose. Its not cheap (like $40) but a little goes a long way and WOW is my hair voluminous! Let me know what you try!
