This month I received my very first +Influenster VoxBox and I was super pumped that it included nail polish!! Oh how I loooove nail polish, but we will get to all that later in my Blog.
Sally Hansen miracle gel reviewThe claim? 14 day color + shine with no UV lighting needed. Yep, you read that right - 2 WEEKS of wear. With my Influenster box I received the color Redgy to test. I had previously been lucky to find these at my local CVS and had picked up both Sugar Rush (a periwinkle color) and Hunger Flames (a pretty awesome vibrant purple (which I still haven't used). Did you know that this collection has 47 colors? Holy Moly options!
How you use the miracle gelYou choose your Sally Hansen Miracle Gel color coat, you paint it, you do a second coat, and then you use the Miracle Gel top coat over top. That is it - your done. No UV light needed.
In doing some research on reviews I noted the following tips: use this on clean, bare nails and, because this Top Coat is stuffed with UV sensitive ingredients; not use it in direct sunlight or under super-powered LED lights. If you can do so, when you’re finished your top coat maybe stick your hand out into the direct sunshine for 5 minutes to help speed dry it. <----I tried this and it totally worked.
My conclusion? The edge of my fingernail is always the first place to show wear and this time is no different. Two days in I got a few chips and just redid those two nails when using Redgy. Pictured below are the two other colors I own. Each color formula is a little different. Sugar Rush was more streaky when used (I used it as a pedi color) but the Top Coat took care of any imperfections and it lasted more then two weeks! I only took it off because I had gotten tired of it.
Will have to see how my experience with Hunger Flames goes and will report back. But all in all I think this polish is pretty awesome! I've noted other bloggers using the top coat over other (non-miracle gel) polishes and finding the top coat extends their wear too. I'm gonna have to test that out myself - though using Gelous tends make my polis "wear like steel" anyways.... Course that requires more steps/coats of polish (but again another post for another time!)
